We’ll demystify the many forms of solder — wire, chip, paste, and even pick — while focusing on their uses with both copper and silver.
You’ll learn how to:
- Choose the right type and flow temperature of solder
- Use flux and understand oxidation differences between copper and silver
- Control heat for small, medium, and large joins
- Set up for success using sweat soldering, butt joints, and pick soldering
- Troubleshoot problems (like pits, gaps, and incomplete flows)
- Use paste solder for efficiency — when and how it's your best friend
- Apply finishing tips to clean up your joins beautifully
